Firefighters responded to a fast growing wildfire on Bureau of Land Management lands five miles south of Mancos, Colorado.  The Weber Fire was reported about 5:30 p.m. at about 30 acres.  At last report, estimates were that it had grown to more than 100 acres in size.  At least 10 structures are threatened. A Type 3 helicopter is making water drops, and two single engine air tankers are dropping slurry.  A 20-person firefighting crew from Idaho, which was prepositioned in the area, has responded to the fire. Two heavy air tankers and three additional single engine air tankers have been ordered, along with a Type 1 helicopter, and two additional 20-person firefighting crews.

The plume from the fire can be seen from as far away as Durango.  The public is advised not to call area dispatch centers, which are busy supporting the effort.  More information will be released to the media as it becomes available.
