Information obtained from Weber Fire Public Information Officers.
Weber Fire now estimated at 500–600 acres at 9:00 p.m.
Firefighters are notifying residents of the Elk Springs Subdivision in East Canyon of possible evacuations, as the fire is reported on the upper slopes of East Canyon; however, at this time, evacuations are not mandatory. Firefighters are offering structural protection. No new road closures to report.
Weber Fire still active tonight.
Because fuel conditions are so dry, the Weber Fire is remaining active after dark even though the relative humidity is rising and temperatures are falling. The fire is burning in steep treacherous terrain, so
firefighters will concentrate on structural protection in East Canyon tonight, while monitoring the fire. Public and firefighter safety is the number one priority. More reports tomorrow.
