On April 16th and 17th, community leaders, local government/elected officials, community planners, and other fire agency leaders will come together in Glenwood Springs to explore the true cost of wildfires in our communities. This event starts by looking at wildland fire in Colorado from an incident commander’s perspective. Then folks will learn about the total costs of wildfires, “real-world” costs and how it impacts taxpayers and policy makers.
A diverse group of speakers will provide information as well as a chance for attendees to participate in discussions about Fire Adapted Communities, Land-Use Planning, Community Wildfire Protection Plans, Managing Wildfire Hazards, and Success and Failures in utilizing incentives, regulations and policies.
This is a two day event that will offer many chances to network with fire agency leaders, research scientists, elected officials, and NGO’s. To take advantage of this unique opportunity, visit www.wildfire-colorado.com to learn more and to register.
