State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) Status Level 3

SEOC continues to support of the following: U.S. 50 Blue Mesa Reservoir Bridge Closure, Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza in Weld County and supports wildfire recovery efforts statewide.

SEOC is operational Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Ouray County Storms and Landslide Incident

On Friday, August 23, 2024, Governor Polis approved a verbal declaration of disaster emergency for flooding and debris flows for Ouray County. This declaration activates the State Emergency Operations Plan and directs the Office of Emergency Management (OEM) to take all necessary and appropriate state actions to assist the affected jurisdictions with their response, recovery, and mitigation efforts.  DHSEM West Area Field Manager is providing direct support and technical assistance to the county along with support from the DHSEM State Recovery SectionTeam.
 
On August 14, 2024 Ouray County declared an local emergency disaster due to the impacts of severe storms and moisture that caused flooding and damage to roads and critical infrastructure.

Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI)

The Governor of Colorado verbally declared a disaster emergency on July 5, 2024. This declaration activates the State Emergency Operations Plan and directs the Office of Emergency Management (OEM) to take all necessary and appropriate State actions to assist the affected jurisdictions with their response, recovery, and mitigation efforts.

Current Wildland Fire Information

The current focus for DHSEM is recovery efforts following the July wildfires. The State Recovery Task Force, led by DHSEM, met on August 8, 2024 to initiate the state response.
