State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) Status Level 3

SEOC continues to support of the following: U.S. 50 Blue Mesa Reservoir Bridge Closure and EMAC deployments to support jurisdictions impacted by Hurricane Helene.

SEOC is operational Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Hurricane Helene EMAC Deployment

On Wednesday, September 25, 2024 an Emergency Management Assistance Compact (EMAC) request from the State of Florida was filled with 7 members from the Colorado Incident Management Team. The team deployed six people to the Columbia County Emergency Operations Center in Lake City, Florida for a 14 day assignment ahead of Hurricane Helene.  In addition to the Colorado IMT team deployed, DHSEM’s Incident Management Unit Supervisor deployed to the Florida State Emergency Operations Center to assist in coordinating all of the IMTs assigned through EMAC for the hurricane. The members assigned to Columbia County EOC are filling the following positions:

•2 EOC Managers
•1 Operations Section Chief
•1 Logistics Section Chief
•1 Safety Officer
•1 Planning Section Chief

Ouray County Storms and Landslide Incident

On Friday, August 23, 2024, Governor Polis approved a verbal declaration of disaster emergency for flooding and debris flows for Ouray County. This declaration activates the State Emergency Operations Plan and directs the Office of Emergency Management (OEM) to take all necessary and appropriate state actions to assist the affected jurisdictions with their response, recovery, and mitigation efforts.  DHSEM West Area Field Manager is providing direct support and technical assistance to the county along with support from the DHSEM State Recovery Section Team.
 
On August 14, 2024 Ouray County declared an local emergency disaster due to the impacts of severe storms and moisture that caused flooding and damage to roads and critical infrastructure.
